Mirror (Message of Light)
From the Gospel of Matthew 23:26 :
First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
What’s in your heart? Joy or sadness? Hatred or kindness? Irritation or goodness? Could there be any connection between the events that occur in our lives and our own inner disposition?
Many people don’t believe this hypothesis. Firstly, because few people explore what they feel, but also, and above all, because we tend to blame everything that happens to us on the devil and the demons that inhabit our fellow men. Yet the heart is a powerful tool in the life of both body and mind. Its beating gives life to the body. Its energetic envelope gives life to the spirit, because spiritually, the heart is the window to our soul… It’s a receptacle of spiritual influx or energy, and as such, releases what it contains! That’s why the Lord says that out of the heart of man come evil thoughts, lies and adulteries that defile man (Matthew 15:19)! These same words of Christ, reported by the Evangelist Mark (7:21) specify: « For from within, from the hearts of men, come out evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders… » This means that when we speak of the « inside » or interior of man, we’re talking about what’s in his heart!
« Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it » (Proverbs 4:23). To understand the deeper meaning of this passage, let’s take a look at the writings inscribed on the Emerald Table from Apollonius of Tyana’s Book of the Secrets of Creation: « What is below is like what is above, and what is above is like what is below, to work the miracles of a single thing ». A universal principle, that of the mirror! Our life is the mirror – or reflection – of our thoughts, » says Wayne Dyer. And don’t thoughts come from the heart? Both « up » and « down », inside and out, are home to the same energies that drive everything around us. Not for nothing did King David declare: « No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies. » (Psalms 58:2,3).
We must therefore bear in mind this universal law : our life is the mirror of our heart. To understand the dynamics of the situations that happen to us, we need to understand this saying and accept it fully! For this is where the Lord’s exhortations or observations come from: « First clean the inside of the cup and dish… » (Matthew 23:26, Mark 7:21); « So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you » (Matthew 7:12, Matthew 22:39, Luke 6:31, Luke 10:27) or « The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing » (John 6:63). All these passages of Scripture point out to the same reality. The Lord is asking us, from this moment on, to change our vision of life : everything, absolutely everything that happens to us is the fruit of the energy released by our heart. That’s why it’s the main source of our life (Proverbs 4:23) ! Even if certain people in our lives seem to be the source of some of the afflictions we experience at any given time, it’s our heart that attracts them. Kindness attracts kindness, violence attracts violence, fear attracts domination, and so on.
Of course, in rare cases, life’s mission may involve a certain amount of suffering. In such cases, the individual is fully aligned to attract this suffering in order to accomplish what he or she came to Earth to do. In this way, some martyrs or defenders of the truth will be inflicted with atrocious suffering, even to the point of risking their lives. However, these people know this and are prepared for it. They intentionally attract these situations, through their luminous actions and words, and confront them. This is the case of Christ, for example. But the vast majority of people who come to Earth don’t have a life plan that necessitates all the difficulties they experience… these problems are created out of nothing by the darkness of our thoughts, and that’s why Christ asks us here to look within to examine the energy present in us: is it resentment, hatred or irritation? Is it violence? If we can find this out, we’ll have the cause of our misery, and we’ll be able to put things right for a calmer, brighter life.
Good meditation.
