Practice (Message of Light)

From the Gospel of John 14:12:

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

From theory to practice. From Word to action. From knowledge to work… True faith moves things within us and around us. But, for the most part, do we really have faith? Do you know the Master’s instructions? Do you understand the Word? Do you love what you think you know and understand? And why has nothing changed in you, in your life, around you? Always approaching life in the same ways, through fear and doubt… Always reacting to situations in the same way… Why does this living Word have almost no significant effect on your life? And yet, you preach it to anyone who will listen… You criticize others who violate your new values, those that you have built based on your new perception of life…

Could it be that we have not yet managed to get started? Is it possible that we still have difficulty establishing this internal coherence that balances our inner and outer life? Look into the holy scriptures. From beginning to end, there is only one message, the message of Love. Ultimately, it is about emptying one’s heart of all attachments in order to turn towards Heaven a little more each day. Obviously, this work of self-realization requires deep introspection: recognizing that one is sick; expressing the desire to heal and making this goal a top priority in one’s life. It is not easy at all to reveal one’s own personality to oneself; even less so to others. The fear of judging oneself or being stigmatized by others often prevents us from taking the step. From one day to the next, others will know who I really am, my true face, the one that hides behind this mask that I have worn for so long… And what image will they now have of me? How will they treat me? Am I not at risk of losing my place in their hearts? And we are afraid. That is why working on energetic coherence is crucial in all of this…

Many people think that God only speaks to us through His Word, the holy scriptures. And we cling to it. But unfortunately, that is not the case. The evidence is clear: we know the Word. We can even quote verses by heart and recognize situations where we disregard its teachings… But all of this doesn’t change our situation. True communication with Heaven happens through human experience. It is through everything that happens to us every day, at every moment, that God speaks to us. That’s the great revelation behind Saint Paul’s words: « Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. » (Romans 12:2). Therefore, someone who is on their path towards salvation cannot say: « I did this because of him; I did that because of a certain situation… » because each one of us is the sole and unique director of our own life. Each person sets their own rules in life. Do you want to be yourself and take control of your existence or do you prefer to continue being influenced by situations and circumstances? It’s up to you to decide. You and only you.

So let’s make the right decision for our heart. Let’s move from theory to practice. If it is still difficult for us, we will have to arm ourselves with the greatest will and constantly repeat, joyfully, these words of King David: « Teach us the true measure of our days: may our hearts penetrate wisdom. Come back, Lord, why delay? » (Psalm 89:12-13). That is a beautiful prayer. Inviting God into one’s heart is honestly expressing the desire to see Him appear in the core of our life, in every thought we have, in every word we speak and even in the smallest of our actions and decisions. Thus, gradually our works will become harmonious with our soul. And we will become what we preach. And we will become light of the world.

Good meditation.
