Opportunity (Message of Light)

From the book of Psalms 145:8-9:

The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and full of kindness. The Lord is good to all, and his compassion extends over all his works.

From the Gospel of Matthew 19:17:

“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

All the disaster and decline that can be observed in this world stems from a single cause: man has forgotten who he is! For ages, this question has been lingering in the minds of multitudes. We try to define ourselves, we try to know who we are and why we ended up on this planet to live, work, suffer… And in this quest for answers, we try to give meaning to the invisible, supernatural and divine within us and around us. Are we connected to something greater? How does it operate? How does it manifest itself in our daily lives? These are some of the questions.

But does Heaven remain deaf to this desire for self-realization that man manifests? No, of course not. The answers come from everywhere. God’s message has been proclaimed from ancient times until today, through the mouths of messengers, masters, and through many experiences and events. « And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age » (Matthew 28:20); « I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you » (Jeremiah 31:3); « I said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High' » (Psalm 82:6); « He makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust » (Matthew 5:45)… So many messages of love, comfort, and assurance… And yet, man remains relentless in his confusion. He does not know God. And to represent the Divine, he imagines a being like himself who thinks like him, acts like him, and settles things in a human way… A punishing and vengeful God who can condemn and even send into eternal fire despite His great mercy.

Today, the Lord wants to set things right. « And this is eternal life that they know you as the only true God » proclaims Christ (John 17:3). Man can only truly experience the splendor of his soul by knowing who his God really is. Being part of God’s body how could we BE without knowing that we are connected to one another and that our salvation is guaranteed? Everyone has an equal opportunity to make it out alive. God does not want anyone to suffer. No one is destined for any hell or eternal fire because haven’t all children of God been predestined for eternal life even before creation itself (Ephesians 1:4)? God judges no one (John 8:15). He showers His love equally on everyone. Therefore, there are no chosen ones or privileged ones on this path of eternity. We all have the same opportunities to choose the light, peace, joy, and glory that come with His unconditional love.

Here is the message of grace and hope that the Lord gives us on this day. Do not consider yourself unworthy of his love. There is nothing, absolutely nothing you can do in this world that would exempt you from God’s unconditional love. You have no obligations. But at any moment, you can choose to return to him, to return to the light in order to enjoy his infinite grace.

Good meditation.
