Love and pain (Message of Light)

From the book of Psalms 50:19 (51:17):

My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

How to love? That is a question that many people have asked themselves in the past, still ask themselves now, and will certainly ask themselves in the future. It is a timeless question like Love itself! When someone desires to do good, they subtly desire to manifest their love. However, not knowing how to go about it, many get lost. This is because often only one side of the coin is perceived. And in a world where duality serves as a system, such vision is erroneous.

Love is synonymous with compassion. But true compassion is a feeling… It is the deep sensation of realizing that we are not separate from each other but that we form one single body; that our souls are fragments of God’s unique soul. The awareness of unity literally melts the heart because there is no longer a need to harden it! Why, indeed, close one’s heart to oneself? When one reaches such a level of elevation, our personal power serves only to express our love for others. And it is from this luminous state that we draw strength to continue our mission despite the challenges. The heart is then ready to endure pain so that love can be expressed: « Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. » (John 12:27).

Just as light emerges from darkness, love emerges from pain. Therefore, one can truly love only if they accept transcending the fear of experiencing the pain of sacrifice, rejection and compassion in order to dissolve the rigidity of their heart, which means letting go of ego control. In other words, one can truly love only by becoming vulnerable like Christ did. Indeed, Jesus was in control when troops came to arrest him. He had both physical and spiritual power to escape such fate: « Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way? » he said reproachfully to the one who had struck with his sword one of the guards (Matthew 26:53-54). Yet still, the Master made himself vulnerable. Once again, he demonstrated his great compassion for humanity’s salvation! That’s an example! That’s the model of true love.

Today, the Lord invites you to become aware that vulnerability is not a weakness. It is rather a state of gestation of unconditional love. A dimension in which the heart prepares itself to welcome divine love in order to be able to share it in return! To love, one must therefore learn to let go of control (of the ego), soften one’s heart and then open it up to this benevolent energy.

Good meditation.
